The need to survive and help around the kitchen in a single-parent household made for a young Chef Jas. Being present in the kitchen was a necessity and cooking for her friends became a cool bonus. Taking these basic kitchen skills + the 2020 pandemic made for a tuned in home-chef. Dinner parties became more prevalent and so did the desire to become better, learn, and create yummy kitchen staples. Mix this with the love of providing, a good co-host and you get something like this, a pop up cafe for all of you!

Rachael’s coffee journey started with a love of local cafes and sweet treats. Somewhere along the way, her love for coffee turned into curiosity. Curiosity of how she can make coffee herself, what makes a perfect cold brew, and how can she create memorable moments through sharing one of life’s simplest joys - coffee. This combined with years in the service industry gave way to her making coffee and serving guests (and perhaps making a few sweet treats for all of you) at Kusina Kape.
